President Rodrigo Roa Duterte reaffirmed to fellow Bedans the promises he made to the nation from the start of his presidency when he graced the annual San Beda Law Alumni Homecoming held at Shangri-La at The Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

The President described his administration’s current formidable fight against illegal drugs, criminality, corruption and the rebellion that is getting worse. Though he admitted that he is not most happy and has some regrets as President, he vowed to clean up these problems and prevent a disaster for the next generation.

“I am committed to fight corruption and I will suppress drugs. Until the last pusher is out of the streets and the last drug lord is exterminated, it will last until the last day of my term. Di tayo aatras diyan,” he said.

After his remarks, the San Beda Law Alumni Association gave President Duterte the Hall of Fame Award with the conferment of the St. Benedict Medallion by San Beda College Rector and President, Fr. Aloysius Ma. A. Maranan, while the San Beda College of Law Class of 1991 presented him a Plaque of Appreciation.

Dela Rosa said Dayan was “arrested” in San Juan, La Union before noon today following a “literal chase” with Pangasinan and La Union cops. “Matagal ito na operation dahil nagtago siya ng husto, nasa bundok siya nagtago, parang close to ermitanyo,” Dela Rosa said. “All the while we were looking for him, siya ay nagtago sa Sitio Bato, Barangay Lacong, San Gabriel, La Union." Dayan has been accused of receiving drug money from high-profile Bilibid inmates. The money was supposedly used for De Lima’s 2016 senatorial campaign.
