Kris AQUINO SAPUL sa PARINIG ni Duterte CABINET

TV personality and ex-presidential sister Kris Aquino on Friday praised Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol and told him he worked faster than her brother former President Benigno Aquino III's agriculture chief.

While at the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Summit in Davao City, Piñol gave a brief discussion on the state of abaca production in the Philippines.

He explained the potential of abaca production in the country if only the government paid attention to develop it.

"Abaca is found only in the Philippines, only in the Philippines. It is the strongest fiber in the world. Pero pinabayaan natin," Piñol said.

Kris, who was hosting the summit, then asked, "Sino nagpabaya? Si Alcala?"
She was referring to former Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala, who served under Aquino.

"Hindi po. Hindi po. Matagal na po ito. Ito po ang ugali ng Pilipino minsan na ang sariling yaman in-ignore," Piñol replied.

Piñol then said that even before he took oath, he promised abaca farmers P100 million to help them revive the industry, of which P50 million had been released.

"You released it in just four months? Ang taray mo," Kris told Piñol.
Piñol said that it was easy to help the people if there was no corruption.

"Sec, hindi naman kami nagnakaw," Aquino said.
"No no ma'am, hindi. Ang sinasabi ko lang na sana ito ay sana maging standard sa gobyerno tulad ng ginawa ni Noy," Piñol said.

"Totoo naman eh, kahit ano man ang sabihan nila, iyong isyu ng corruption ay hindi pwede ibato kay PNoy," he added.

Aquino seemed pleased and said: "I love you. And ako, now I'm seeing you're faster. Iyong secretary niya was slow. You're fast. Bongga!"
