Good news for war veterans, widows of military and retired Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)





President Rodrigo Duterte conjunction with the commemoration of Heroes' Day the distribution of the multi-billion peso devoted to serving countrymen during the war, as well as their loved ones and retired members of the military.

President Duterte's speech at the National Heroes Day Ceremony at the Tomb of Heroes, announced its reaching P4.7B total funds allocated for the benefit of war heroes, their families and military retirees as well.

"For those who were not paid by the previous administration, to all of them for release is P4.7 billion for the payment of the total administrative liability... of widows of World War II veterans and military retirees who are 80 years old and above. The amount is appropriated budget in 2016 but not released by Aquino...stated that those names but never mind him, he knows that he passed , it's no longer his problem, " told President Duterte.

It also mentioned that the joint IRR (Implementing Rules and Regulations) for the implementation and release of funds was signed by the Department of Budget and Management Secretary Benjamin Diokno and National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.
